How do I control what each technician sees in FieldCamp?
Role and permission scoping together control it. A Field Technician Lite sees only their own calendar events and assigned visits. A Field Technician Pro can view assigned clients, create records, but not access analytics or settings. A Dispatcher has broad board access but not billing or team settings. Admin has full access. Build a custom role and you toggle every module independently — view own, view all, create, edit, delete.
Do skills and shift schedules affect job assignment?
Yes. The AI Dispatcher reads four signals per technician: the matching skill, an open shift window, within-capacity, and Assignable to Jobs set to on. If a technician is on leave or unavailable, flip Assignable to Jobs off and they drop off the eligible list for every future assignment — no manual workaround needed.
Can I manage technician shifts and availability?
Yes. Each technician has a weekly availability schedule with per-day start and end times — defaulting to Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. You can also set a home base and route preference that the route optimization engine reads. Per-technician hourly, overtime, and emergency labor rates are stored here too, so job costing can pull the right number.
How do I add a technician to FieldCamp?
There are three invitation methods: send an invitation email, send an invitation SMS, or generate a password manually and share it directly. At the point of invitation you assign their role and set their team color — the color that shows up on the calendar and dispatch board to distinguish each tech's jobs at a glance.
What happens if I deactivate a team member?
Deactivating a team member revokes their login and removes them from the AI Dispatcher's eligible list, but their profile and all historical job and visit data stay intact. If you need to permanently remove a profile, the Remove option deletes the record while preserving any job and visit records they were part of.
